Saving places
Which apps can I save from?
Any app with a Share button: Google Maps, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, your browser, notes and messages. You can also paste a copied link into Wherlyst, or search the map and drop a pin.
I can't find Wherlyst in the share menu.
On iPhone, scroll to the end of the row of apps, tap More and turn Wherlyst on. You can drag it up so it shows first next time.
On Android, Wherlyst appears in the share list after you install it. If you don't see it, scroll the list or search it for Wherlyst.
Do I need to open Wherlyst to save?
No. The save sheet opens on top of the app you're in. Check the place, tap Save, and you're back where you were.
Locations
Why is a save waiting for a location?
The post didn't say clearly where it was, so Wherlyst kept it without a pin. Open Waiting for location, search the map for the place and save it there. Nothing is lost while it waits.
The pin is in the wrong place. Can I change it?
Yes. Tap Change on the save sheet before you save, or open the place later and edit its location.
Does Wherlyst track where I am?
Your live location is used on your phone to show places near you. It is not sent to or stored on our servers. The privacy policy has the details.
Folders and sharing
Do my friends need the app to see a folder?
Not with a web link: anyone who has it can see the places in their browser. To add places, they need the app and an invite.
What's the difference between "can add" and "can view"?
People who can add put their own places into the folder. People who can view only look. Who can do what
How do I stop sharing a folder?
Turn off its web link, and the old address stops working right away. To remove someone you invited, open the folder's members and remove them.
Account and data
How do I get a copy of my data?
In the app, go to Settings > Account & privacy > Request a copy of my data.
Does Wherlyst show ads or sell my data?
No. There are no ads in Wherlyst, and your data is not sold.
Delete your account
In the app, go to Settings > Account & privacy > Delete account.
No app, or can't open it? A form on this page will let you delete your account with your email address and a code we send you. Until it is ready, write to us from the email address on your account: wherlyst@90pixel.com
Deleting your account removes your places, notes, folders and the web links of your folders. It can't be undone, so request a copy of your data first if you want one. An App Store subscription is not cancelled by deleting your account; cancel it in your App Store settings.
Report content
Saw something in a shared folder or on a shared web page that shouldn't be there? You don't need an account to report it.
- In the app, open the place or folder and choose Report.
- On a shared web page, use Report this content at the bottom of the page.

We aim to review reports within 24 hours and tell you what we decided. You can also block a person in the app so they can't join your folders.
